ACTIVITIES

NGO Activities : The primary object of the Seminary is to care for the religious, educational and social needs and well being of all persons in India and more particularly in Kerala. The Seminary educates men and women of diverse backgrounds for the ministry and witness of God in the society. Seminary education occurs through scholarship, research and reflection, balanced by community service and practical ministry experience. With a strong commitment to both academy and society, and through its innovative curriculum and renowned faculty, the Seminary upholds the highest academic standards to prepare leaders for the society. The Seminary maintains highly tangible connections with the community around without any faith barrier. All opportunities are provided for the students for an active involvement in the ministry of the local churches and various non-governmental and voluntary organizations. Through its teaching, scholarship, and community services, the Seminary seeks to nurture the formation of spiritual identity and discipline, and faith-based moral responsibility in keeping with awareness of the rich heritage, the resources and challenges, and religiously diverse context of ministry. During the last more than 65 years of ministry the Seminary was able to produce thousands of leaders, ministers of the Church and society. More than 75 percent of the ministers now serving the four Kerala dioceses of the Church of South India and a considerable number of ministers of other Christian denominations had their ministerial training in this Seminary. Several of the Seminary graduates are working with non-governmental and voluntary organizations in India and abroad. The Counselling Centre of the seminary is another important facility that provides the seminary to relate to the general public. The Seminary identified counselling support as one urgent need for social intervention. Couselling has been an integral part of the curriculum today. Today, many of the graduates of the seminary are now practicing cousellors.
