NGO Activities : 1. Vocational training for disempowered and financially weak women who are taught trades like stitching and tailoring as well as those of a beautician and groomer. 2. Non-formal education (NFE) for underprivileged children is also offered. They are helped to learn enough to take formal admission in schools even without a previous history of schooling. This includes children well past prescribed age limits. Several wards have achieved excellent results and joined classes up to the XIth and VIIth standards, all by dint of continual effort on part of our staff and volunteers. 3. ‘Assisted schooling’ classes are provided to children from educationally backward children who are unable to afford tuitions they need to supplement formal study in school. This is done on Sundays so as to not interrupt their formal education, but still bring them to the level of other pupils. 4. Kritsankalp has regularly organised camps for Hepatitis B vaccination at nominal rates at regular intervals in combination with drives to create awareness of this contagious disease among the population. The rates have been kept as low as possible, compared to those offered anywhere else in the NCR region and accessibility of the site also carefully considered. 5. General health education camps are held for creating mass awareness among the general public about the importance of good health. The means suggested are early diagnosis including standard tests for various common diseases discussed at length at the camp and offered whenever possible on the site, timely medication and treatment, good hygiene, regular exercise, and positive life style choices. 6. The organization has also held eye-checkup camps since this aspect is particularly neglected among underprivileged children.
