NGO Activities : DAGAR is dedicated to influence individual, organizational and societal processes for achieving excellence in their areas of Concerns. DAGAR participates with children and women in identifying issues and to evolve solutions and develop strategies with them. DAGAR works with this holistic development and has evolved sustainable development model with women and children in nucleus. The main area of concern in the model is women rights, child rights, education, health, sanitation, child protection and livelihood. Patna is the centre of development of Study Materials, Training Design, Training Mannual; the Editorial board of Bihar Journal of Sustainable Development meets here. The office has fairly good library, which caters to the needs of young researchers. It is the secretariat of Aryan- Child rights network, Srijana- women rights network, TOTA- Network of Trainers, and BCER- network on early child and education. These networks are participatory in its scope and nature, developing its presence from grassroots to national level. Jehanabad - the district famous for Naxal activities and caste based violence- is DAGAR’s envisioning ground for the model of sustainable development since 2000. It is the evolving and enriching field for the empowerment of women rights through Entrepreneurship Development, livelihood, education, health, sanitation and capacity building. DAGAR believes that the foundation of sustainable development is the Self Help Group (SHGs) movement. At present, it is working in the blocks of Modanganj, Kako, Ghoshi and Jehanabad, and has over 300 well functioning SHGs, which are economically empowered, socially strengthened, and moving progressively towards self-sustainability.
