Two simultaneous surveys conducted on the impact of rural development programmes and schemes on the socio- cultural life of the rural population in Tipaimukh and Jiribam sub-divisions of Manipur and Lakhipur Sub-Division, Cachar Dist., Assam during January-February 2008 and January-February 2009. Report compiled and disseminated to concerned bodies. Future actions and follow-up planned. 4. An awareness campaign on environmental conservation done and completed in Tipaimukh and adjoining areas during February-March 2009. Report compiled and disseminated to concerned bodies. Future actions and follow-up planned. 5. Follow-up and completion of an earlier research project done on the socio- cultural development of the rural Tengapaniya Deori populations of Lohit Dist. Conducted and completed a survey on socio-cultural development among the rural Hmar population of Sielkan and neighbouring villages of Jaintia Hills Dist., Meghalaya, 2008.
