ACTIVITIES

NGO Activities : Our sole motto and buzz words are “GROW WITH NATURE, NOT AT THE COST OF NATURE”, “Community Rights over Community Resources”, “Cleanliness in public as well as private life” AND “Strengthening of Participatory Democracy” We along with other likeminded people and organizations are deeply engaged in “Ridge Bachao Andolan” a massive social awareness for the protection of “Aravali Ridge” and “Yamuna Bachao Andolan” for revival and protection of perennial flow of the river YAMUNA. We are widely known as voice for the protection of Environment and the Society as a whole. We have time tested and well renowned daring, octogenarian and seasoned columnist Mr. Kuldeep Nayar to guide us as the President of our organization. We have put forward the concept of ‘Carrying Capacity’ of any area with Delhi as case study done by our eminent scientist and Vice-President Prof Vikram Soni, which even published in renowned science journal “CURRENT SCIENCE”. His efforts convinced the Lt. Governor of Delhi, Hon’ble Tejender Khanna to issue ‘Moratorium Order’ on further non-natural activities on river Yamuna flood plain. His in-depth knowledge and understanding of science in relation with the “Nature” is superb and of great use. His presence among us makes us bold and scientific. Actively participated in formulation of Master Plan of Delhi-2021, where we put forward our well researched points. Mr. Diwan Singh, our TREASURER AND BRILLIANT friend calculated actual water need, supply and future scenario of drinking and ground water of Delhi, which was widely published and appreciated in national dailies. Diwan Singh is a Law and Management Graduate and gave up his profession for the sake of social-work. Being native of a village of Delhi, he is the eye-witness of ‘Destruction of green and cultured Delhi’. Among media and social-work circle he is the synonym of environment of Delhi. Wherever there is need he offers his best service for the society. Our Joint-Secretary, Mr. Uday Gosain is a Telecom engineer by profession. His passion for the Indian society is such that he left a lucrative job in Munich, returned to India and started proactive role in streamlining the mass behavior. He is widely covered in media for his passion, perseverance and dedication towards the society. Apart from his coverage in “ÖUTLOOK” English magazine, he has been appreciated by ‘Times Now’ an English News Channel under its programme in January, 2009 as “Few Persons making Difference- Ordinary Person-Extra Ordinary Efforts”. We organized Legal Literacy camps, Voting Rights awareness and health camps as well in the slums of Delhi. We have organized as well as participated in several seminars, Conferences, street plays and TV shows concerning environmental and social issues. As recognition to our efforts, one of our friend and Secretary of our organization Kumar Onkareshwar was one among “Times of India’s -Lead India” nominated young leader from Delhi as well as he was featured by “Times Now” in January, 2009 as “Few Persons making Difference- Ordinary Person-Extra Ordinary Efforts”. He is well conversant in reaching out the mass and media.
