ACTIVITIES

NGO Activities : Parampara Regd. No. 1206/108 of 2005/2006, Bhubaneswar Parampara registered socio cultural organization was instituted in 2005-2006 to preserve, promote and propagate the rich cultural heritage of Odisha as well as India. Over the 5 years it has successfully organized classical, traditional, folk and tribal, Music & Dance events, Odissi dance, Loka Nrutya and Drama Utsav amidst pump and pageantry. Artists and connoisseurs. of art as well as mass media have shown. enthusiasm and supported this endeavor whole heartedly. Parampara celebrated it’s inaugural Ceremony, a day long programme on 30th April 2006 at Jayadav Bhaban and Rabindra Mandap both main auditorium .from.10 AM to.11 PM. along with a cultural Rally carrying the Brass logo of Parampara. This day is observed as the first day of the new agricultural year i.e. Akshya Trutiya. This day is also celebrated as the Birth Day of Great Poet jayadev & parsuram and the first day of Chandan Jatra of Mahaprabhu Lord jagannath (MadanMohana). Amidst the ambiance of an. odia Village, Odissi Sankirtan, Paika Akhada, Patta Khela, and Badikhela were performed by the toka Nrutya Troups and folk artists of different comer of Odisha. Punjabi Dhol troupe. Dakhina Sehenai of south Indian Tradition, Blowing of counch Shell, (Sankha Dhwani) Odia Mahuri & Telengi Rhythm and war dances such as Naga Dance of Puri District & Banati, were also performed. A tribal Santali group from Mayurbhanj District performed tribal dance. For their pioneering contribution to Orissa’s traditional music, theatre and dance, Padma Shree Pandit Suramani Raghunath Panigrahi. Veteran Actor Guru Sri Dudlav Ch Singh and Dance Exponent Dr. Minati Mishra were conferred the Parampara Awards for 2010. Padmashree Tulasi Munda presented the Trophy and other gifts to the respected Awardees in presence of other high dignitaries and guests. His Excellency the Governor of Odisha Shri Mudidhar Chandrakanta Bhandare, Industry and Law Minister Sri Biswabhusan Harichandan and King of Puri, Gajapati. Maharaja Shri Shri Dibyasingha Deb with his family witnessed the Parampara Utsav. For the last five years parampara has been trying to promote the ancient and dying art forms of Odisha. Amidst the cacophony of the modem Music and Dance, traditional Music, Drama and dance forms need to be propagated. The organization has got tremendous support from media public and. artists as some of the members associated are of National & International Repute. This institution is one of it’s kind in Odisha and has no parallel.
