ACTIVITIES

NGO Activities : Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR)is a think tank based in Cochin, Kerala. CPPR was inaugurated in 2004 and focus on the policy research in areas like urban governance, education, judicial reforms and public disclosure. Started by qualified professionals, CPPR has spread its operations across the country in the last five years and successfully partnered with many national and international think tanks and NGOs. We have leveraged on the domain knowledge in policy research by updating and training with other institutions along with the work we carry out with them. At the international level, CPPR is privileged to have partners like Friedrich-Naumann Stiftung, Germany, Atlas Economic Research Foundation US, Fraser Institute Canada etc. Recently we have started working with SMART of Michigan University on transport and traffic planning. CPPR plans to work with ARUP, US to explore urban initiatives in India. In India, CPPR works as a consultant to City Connect (a joint program of CII and Janaagraha Bangalore) initiatives in cities like Chennai and Bangalore and Janaagraha Bangalore. In Kerala, we have the opportunity to work with District Administration of Ernakulam to conduct feasibility study of a Mobility Hub in Kochi. This project has been taken at the Chief Secretary level to get the Cabinet node. CPPR has also worked with Centre for Civil Society, New Delhi, Liberty Institute, New Delhi, Association for Democratic Reforms and so on. Our expertise is to conduct policy research which can enhance the quality of life of human beings in every day life. Our findings are disseminated through media, weblinks and publications. Recently, we launched ADR Centre to provide solutions to the problems of the public through Alternative Dispute Resolutions (ADR). The Centre would assist the common people to settle their disputes out of court. It is the endeavour of ADR Centre to provide alternate solutions to the common man. For the last three years, we are also into publication called www.mindtext.org. This is a platform to discuss the various policy related matters with a practical solution to the issues pertaining to it. MindTEXT has already received recognition to widen its scope and reach out to make it as a repository of policy research resources.
